16" Human Hair Clip In Extensions (2 pcs) by POP :: Put On Pieces

Made from the finest quality 100% Human Hair, each system consists of two multi-level systems. The larger tri-level piece adds easy length and/or volume without the hassle of working with several individual wefts. Use this piece by itself or, if you want even longer hair, add the smaller bi-level piece at the nape.

The larger piece consists of 2 strips of 13.5" long hair for an overall length of 16". The smaller piece consists of 2 strips of 13.5" long hair for an overall length of 15.5".

Also included are two 1" wide strips to be used for testing perm and color. Two "duck-bill" hair clips are included for use in attaching the systems. Available in nine color levels and six pre-dyed "salon inspired" colors, these extensions have been specially processed so that they can be professionally colored and/or permed and cut to match any client's needs.

Just POP them on! Now anyone can easily and affordably add length, volume, texture and/or highlights to their own hair with Put On Pieces® clip-in 100% fine human hair extensions.

This is the hairpiece redefined. Celebrity stylist Ken Paves has created great styles you'll want to use everywhere. PutOnPieces give you the freedom to create versatile new looks in less time with less hassle. Simply beautiful, so realistic, the way to be your best.

Gather the Necessary Tools

Duck Clips

Rat Tail Comb

2PC System Wefts
Step 1 (Larger): Practice Opening and Closing the Clips
 Tip
Practice opening and closing the clips before you begin.

With the clip side of the piece facing you, put both thumbs on each side of the clip and the index fingers at the front sides. Snap the clip open by applying pressure toward yourself with the index fingers. Similarly, close the clip by applying pressure away from yourself with the thumbs.

 Remember
There are two pieces to this extension system, allowing you to achieve length, body and volume. However, some clients choose to wear the largest piece only as a volume enhancer. If you want to wear both pieces, attach the smaller piece first and then attach the larger piece above it.

Step 2 (Larger): Separating the Hair

Using a tail comb or your index fingers, practice parting the hair horizontally from one side of the head to the other. Starting about an inch above the temple on one side, part the hair around the back of the head to the other temple.

Step 3 (Larger): Clip Up the Hair Above the Part

Lift up all the hair above the part and clip it out of the way using the enclosed duck-bill clip(s).

Step 4 (Larger): Prepare the Piece

Open all the clips on the piece.

Step 5 (Larger): Placement of the First Clip

The top middle clip should be attached first by placing it at the middle of the back of the head just below the part so that the top of the weft is even with the part when attached. Moving the clip downward, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut.

Step 6 (Larger): Placement of the Second Clip

The right clip is next. Holding the middle clip in place with your left hand, use your right hand to move the right edge of the weft as far as it will go around your head. As above, place the clip on your hair just below the part, and moving the clip downward, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut.

Step 7 (Larger): Placement of the Third Clip

Finally, to attach the left clip, hold the middle clip in place with your right hand, and use your left hand to move the left edge of the weft as far as it will go around your head. As in the previous two steps, place the clip on your hair just below the part, and moving the clip downward, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut.

Step 8 (Larger): Check for Gaps

Now that the three top clips are attached, run your fingers along the top weft to make sure it lies flat against your head along the entire width. If there are any gaps, correct this by repositioning it so that the weft lies flat.

Step 9 (Larger): Placement of the Fourth Clip

Similar to attaching the top row of clips, start with the middle clip when attaching the bottom row. The bottom middle clip should be placed first by pulling down on the piece and placing the clip at the middle of the head, making sure the clip goes all the way to the scalp. The vertical stretch lace allows the piece to be pulled taut so that no gaps occur between the top and bottom of the piece.

Step 10 (Larger): Placement of the Fifth Clip

The right bottom clip is next. As in the previous step, attach the right bottom clip making sure the clip goes all the way to the scalp.

Step 11 (Larger): Placement of the Sixth Clip

The left bottom clip is next. As in the previous step, attach the left bottom clip making sure the clip goes all the way to the scalp.

Step 12 (Larger): Check for Gaps

Now that the three bottom clips are attached, run your fingers along the bottom weft to make sure it lies flat against your head along the entire width. Also, at this time, check to make sure that the piece lies flat from top to bottom. If there are any gaps, correct this by snapping the clip open, lifting it off your hair and repositioning it so that the piece lies flat in all directions.

Step 13 (Larger): Finishing the Look

Release all the hair that was clipped out of the way in Step 3 and blend it in.

To remove either piece, snap open all the clips and gently lift up and away from your hair.

 Remember
Never try to remove a weft without first opening all the clips. Pulling or tugging to remove a weft can result in damage to your own hair.

Step 1 (Smaller): Separating the Hair

The larger piece in the Extension System has been designed to use by itself. However, if you want to have even longer hair, the smaller bi-level piece can be used in conjunction with the larger piece.

 Remember
When using both pieces, the smaller one should be attached first.

Using a tail comb or your index fingers, practice parting the hair horizontally from one side of the head to the other. Starting below the occipital bone (the curved, trapezoidal compound bone that forms the lower posterior part of the skull), and using a tail comb or your index fingers, make a part starting just behind your ear, going from ear to ear.

Step 2 (Smaller): Clip Up the Hair Above the Part

Lift up all the hair above the part and clip it out of the way.

Step 3 (Smaller): Prepare the Piece

Open all the clips on the piece.

Step 4 (Smaller): Placement of the First Clip

The top middle clip should be attached first by putting it at the middle of the nape area. Place the clip on your hair just below the part so that the top of the weft is even with the part. Moving the clip downward, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut.

Step 5 (Smaller): Placement of the Second Clip

The right clip is next. Holding the middle clip in place with your left hand, use your right hand to move the right edge of the weft as far as it will go around your head. Pull the weft taut and place the vertical side clip on your scalp, and moving the clip slightly towards the center, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut. You may need to angle this weft up slightly on your head in order to make it taut.

Step 6 (Smaller): Placement of the Third Clip

To attach the left clip, hold the middle clip in place with your right hand, and use your left hand to move the left edge of the weft as far as it will go around your head. As in the previous step, pull the weft taut and place the vertical side clip on your scalp, and moving the clip slightly towards the center, catch your hair in the clip and snap it shut. You may need to angle this weft up slightly on your head in order to make it taut.

Step 7 (Smaller): Check for Gaps

Now that the three top clips are attached, run your fingers along the top weft to make sure it lies flat against your head along the entire width. If there are any gaps, correct this by snapping the clip open, lifting it off your hair and repositioning it so that the weft lies flat.

Step 8 (Smaller): Placement of the Fourth Clip

Located in the center of the bottom weft, this clip acts as an anchor for the piece. The bottom clip should be placed by pulling down on the piece and placing the clip near the end of your hairline at the nape, catching your hair in the clip and snapping it shut.

Step 9 (Smaller): Finishing the Smaller Attachment

Release all the hair that was clipped out of the way in Step 2 and blend in with the piece.

To remove either piece, snap open all the clips and gently lift up and away from your hair.

 Remember
Never try to remove a weft without first opening all the clips. Pulling or tugging to remove a weft can result in damage to your own hair.

Cleaning the Human Hair
 Tip
Caring for your new hair product is easy, and you should treat your new product as an investment that you want to keep looking new and fresh for as long as possible. The correct care and maintenance will allow you to continue using the product with the best results for the longest amount of time. So, use the following instructions as a gauge for determining how and when you should wash and care for your products. And, know that you can always call 1-800-581-8206 and speak to a licensed cosmetologist for answers to all your questions.

Just like your own hair, human hair will accumulate residue through normal wear. However, you do not need to wash the hair everyday to keep consistent results. The hair should be washed as infrequently as possible or when you notice that the hair appears dull or acquires an odor. If you are wearing the hair all day, every day, you can wash them after 3-4 wearings.

Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles. If hair is excessively tangled, a spray on conditioner should be used.

Always use a mild shampoo or one specifically formulated for chemically treated hair.

Run the hair under warm water and after placing a small amount of shampoo on your fingers, gently work the shampoo into the hair, stroking downwards from the weft base to the ends. Do not twist, scrub or rub the hair. Use the shampoo sparingly.

When clean, rinse thoroughly under warm running water until the water runs clear. Be sure to rinse until all shampoo is removed, as improper rinsing could result in damage.

Just like your own hair, human hair extensions need to be conditioned after shampooing to maintain a healthy shine and promote styling ease.

Place a small amount of conditioner in your hand. Gently work into the hair and let sit for three to five minutes.

Rinse thoroughly in warm water.

Gently towel blot to remove excess water.

 Tip
After you have finished washing and towel blotting (drying) the hair, spray the hair with a leave-in conditioner before beginning to comb the hair. Starting at the ends, grasp the hair above the area you are combing and hold the hair firmly while moving a large toothed comb down from your grip towards the ends. When you have combed out all the tangles from the hair you are holding, release your grip and grab the hair closer to the top. Continue to comb the hair below your grip. Continue this method until all the hair is tangle-free. The key is to treat your hair as if it is on the head of a "Tender-Headed" person. By doing this, you create the least amount of tension that may result in hair breaking or pulling from the weft.

While wet, gently comb the hair to remove tangles. Using a large toothed comb, move in a downward motion away from the clips and to the ends. Do not use a bristle brush on wet hair as it may pull out or break the hair.

Hang to air dry, set in rollers, or use a blow dryer on a low setting, as desired.

If the hair is excessively dry, a "professional" conditioner may be necessary. Consult your stylist about this.

Styling the Hair

Steam rollers and/or wet setting are the safest way to curl your human hair.

Blow dryers, curling irons and other thermal tools may be used on low settings. Remember, the hair may scorch if the setting is too high.

If you choose to use electric rollers, always make sure that the ends are wrapped into the rollers to avoid "fishhooks".

For cutting, or any chemical processes such as perming or coloring, take the extensions to a professional stylist.

 Remember
Unlike your hair, this hair does not grow back if you cut it. So, remember to always take your new hair to a salon professional if you need it customized. This will give you the best results!

Storing the Hair

It is best to store the human hair in it's original container. However, you can store the hair in a plastic bag.

To keep the desired curl pattern, you may want to set the hair on rollers that conform to the curl size you wish to maintain before storing in plastic.

Do not sleep or swim while wearing the human hair.

My hair falls just underneath my chin, and I have heard that if you're getting these extensions to add length you need to kits. I would love to hear from someone who actually has these extension. Do I need one kit or two in order to make my hair look natural?

Author: Sammy K.
To Taylor: I recommend 2 kits! I needed the extra volume and must say it looks amazing.

I have had these extensions for 4 months now. I get compliments on them everyday. Everyone thinks my hair is real. It's really easy to put them in and to style. I only bought one set and it's perfect!

I was interested in ordering more clip in extensions. I am mostly satisfied with this, except that it can be hard to hide the "weft" with fine hair. However, I was measuring mine to compare what I already have to what I might buy, and noticed mine is significantly shorter than what they advertise for this one, by about two inches. And that includes the "sparse" ends that look like you haven't had a haircut for a year. I'm nervous to order a shorter extension that might match my own hair better, especially if you don't get the advertised length.
